The Po Delta on a bike: routes and cycle paths
The banks and roads of the Po Delta appear to be designed to be travelled by bicycle. Following the course of the river as it branches off to the sea, the landscape opens up to the eyes of visitors with all its splendour!
Whether you are an experienced cyclist or a neophyte, you can find scenic routes to suit your needs. The most impressive is certainly the Via delle Valli, which along with many other itineraries is well worth discovering!

Two itineraries
Via delle Valli – Nord
The Via delle Valli Nord is a route that allows you to admire the Delta in all its splendour: the fishing valleys, the lagoon, the holm oak forest and the pine forest. It starts where the Via begins at Porto Levante. Along its course, you can admire the vestiges of village life in small churches and casoni huts, but also marvel at the fauna of the area, with the largest colonies of flamingos in the nature oasis, usually dwelling in Valle Sagraeda. With a ferry from Albarella you can reach the other shore and set off along the southern route.
Via delle Valli – Sud
Especially recommended for birdwatchers and lovers of photography. Starting from Porto Levante, you can reach Valle Bagliona, where many different species of birds such as ducks, coots, herons, waders and flamingos find their home. The sunsets add a fiery colour to the landscape. Continuing on, about 3 km away, you arrive at the left bank of the Po di Maistra, the oldest branch of the great river. Here the fauna is most diverse and abundant, as it has the best conditions in which to flourish. The route then ends at the Boccasette boat bridge, which, once crossed, leads to the beach.
